Severe Weather Awareness Week

Severe Weather Awareness Week this year is March 15th-21st, 2026.  The statewide tornado drill is scheduled on Wednesday, March 18th, at 9:50 am.  If you hear the sirens, please remember this is only a TEST.  

Tornado Siren Locations

Five tornado sirens are evenly spaced throughout the city of Avon. The sirens are intended to warn people that are outside during a tornado warning, they are not intended to be heard by people that are indoors. These sirens are just one form of severe weather notification. Please make sure that you have other forms of weather notifications in place.  The sirens in Avon are indicated by a red X in the map below:
