Fire Fighter Qualifications

AGE

  • 18 Years of age on date of appointment

EDUCATION

  • High school graduate or equivalent (i.e., GED)
  • Valid State of Ohio Firefighter 2 certificate
  • Valid State of Ohio EMT-P (Paramedic) certificate

LICENSE

  • Valid State of Ohio driver's license

RESIDENCY

  • Avon Firefighters are required to live in Lorain county or one of the adjoining counties, pursuant to Avon Ordinance No. 127-07
  • Firefighters must maintain residence within said area throughout their term of employment
