The Great Avon Bike Parade

July 4, 2019
11:00 a.m. step-off at the Pool
(Pool open swim hours:  Noon-6:00 p.m.)

It’s the City’s 4th annual Fourth of July Bike Parade! Decorate your bike, scooter, wagon, tricycle, etc. and come celebrate America!  The parade begins promptly at 11:00 a.m. at the Avon Pool.  The short and safe one-mile parade features both a police and fire escort.  After the parade, enjoy icy popsicles, food trucks, bounce houses and music.  All participants will receive one complimentary weekday admission to the Avon Pool (Good July 4 through end-of-season).

Story Time @ the Pool

STORY TIME:  Bring the kids to the pool for Story Time!  The Library will have someone on-site to read to pool patrons during rest hours from 12:45 – 2:00!

Water Polo

The Cleveland Water Polo Club practices and scrimmages at the Avon Pool every Sunday from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.  All newcomers welcome!  (Open to both men & women)

Spring Board Diving Class

Ages 9 and older
Swim Requirement:  25 yds + ability to tread water

2 sessions  |  6 classes/session  |  2 class levels

Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
Class 9:30-10:25 Introductory
Class 10:30-11:25 Intro/Novice

Session 2
Wednesday, Friday & Saturday
Class 9:30-10:25 Novice
Class 10:30-11:25 Introductory

9:30 – 10:25 Class – Introductory session for beginning divers.  Will cover the fundamental skills of diving- approach, hurdle, executing forward and back dives with twists & flips, entry and more.

10:30 – 11:25 Class  – Novice and for those with some experience in competitive diving and/or teens.  Will refine skills to improve approach, quality and degree of difficulty of dives.  Introduce additional competitive dive options.

Instructor:  Dennis Dyke, diving coach for two local high schools


Fee:   $50 residents & pass holders; $60 non-residents

Minimum class size = 5     |     Maximum class size = 12

Scuba Diving Camp

Afternoon Classroom Session:
Bay Village Police Station meeting room

Fee $495

Certification Class for children ages 14 and older.  Here’s a great opportunity to get your certification so the family can dive together!  This class is taught by Just Add Water Dive Shop.
